EGMEA representatives today held a productive meeting with officials of MoM. EGMEA’s team was warmly welcomed by Ato Kiros Alemayehu (Head, Minister’s Office), Dr. Eyob Juhar (Mineral Development CEO) and Ato Awoke Tesfaw (Public Relations CEO).

The discussions focused on areas where the association can work with the Ministry to boost the mining sector’s contribution to national GDP. It was stressed that EGMEA, as a professional association, has the knowledge and experience base that can be tapped to support the ministry in achieving its goals. The Ministry officials expressed their support for the revitalization of EGMEA and pledged to strengthen the association going forward. The discussions have also covered the upcoming EGMEA 9th congress, exploring ways the Ministry can support the successful hosting of the Congress.
