A half-day consultative meeting was held today to gather input for the revision of EGMEA’s strategic plan. Senior members of the geoscience community took part in the meeting to discuss and brainstorm ideas that will help define a long-term vision, mission, and goals for EGMEA. Several key points were raised during the meeting and a consensus was reached to consider this gathering as the first of many meetings to come. These subsequent meetings will engage participants in developing a comprehensive strategic document. A committee was formed, consisting of Prof. Tenalem Ayenew, Ato Tibebu Mengistu, Dr. Tesfaye Kebede, Dr. Getnet Mewa, and members of the executive committee, to oversee the drafting of the strategic document. The meeting took place at the Economic Association of Ethiopia (EAE) building complex, where a senior EAE member provided an overview presentation about EAE as part of an experience-sharing session.
